I Was WordCamped
Posted by Tannix in Seriously, Sharing, Specials, tags: wordcamp philippinesYou know that Mr. Wordpress at the start of each new template from WordPress? That actually is a real person and I met him and took his photo. With me on it. And he’s a good guy. Lot’s of smile, with no air, whatsoever.
And oh lucky me, he commented on this blog. Yeah, bragging rights. He said that it was a comment and I either get to keep it, or delete it.
Yes yes yes, the prestigious WordCamp event was finally over, the wait was over (of course) and it was cool. Well it’s a success of course, and I got to eat free food and get some freebies and that WordCamp bag. Haha, the typical freeloader is teh me.
But enough about that shit, I just want to thank the Mindanao Bloggers for bringing forth such a fantastic event in the blogging community.
And as always, I arrived late, just in time to wonder what was Ms. Gail VIllanueva talking about. And it was her Wordpress Theme with CSS seminar that I stumbled upon. It was cool, the typical PHP editing which was destroyed by the blurry projection of her visual aids. Nonetheless, her knowledge was quite broad about that CSS thingy and all other Do’s and Dont’ts on theme editing. It’s cool yo.
The other talk was with Mr. Danilo Arao who I thought was a lawyer, but it turned out he’s a very good journalist/blogger. He gave a lot of funny remarks on his talks about blogging AND journalism (which he stressed out as AND and not VS), about people involved and some other stuff that he knows a lot about. Great talk by Mr. Danny Arao.
I’m looking for the download of his presentation though, it’s somewhere here on the net.
And of course Mr. Matt Mullenweg himself discussed the future of WordPress, some web stats and a lot of numbers too, and of course the very famous question and answer portion which this one dude totally made use of.
Especially that WordPress 2.7, it somehow utilizes Ajax on the Dashboard that gives you that drag-and-drop capability for the dashboard elements. Pretty amazing. And cool. And amazing and cool. Exactly what you’d expect from the brilliant minds of WordPress people.
And since I’m running out of words to say, I just want to end this blog with a very big smile and a two thumbs up for the event. It’s been a great day. Hoping for another one next year.
<insert photos here. it’s somewhere in the camera of a dude from this site>
